Making Donations

There are many locations in the community where you can donate a variety of items, including clothing, furniture and computers. Donations help people in need and may even be tax deductible. Always contact locations before dropping off items.

American Cancer Society Discovery Shop: 400 King Street, Chappaqua. They accept the following:china, clothing, furniture, and sports equipment. 914-238-4900

The Community Center: 84 Bedford Road, Katonah. They accept the following: food donations, bedding and linens, seasonal clothing. Donation hours: 10:30 am – 3:30 pm Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 am –1:00 pm on Saturday, 914-232-6572.

The Katonah Thrift Shop: 71 Bedford Road, Katonah. Open Monday-Wednesday and Friday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and Saturdays, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. They accept the following: books, clothing, household items, jewelry and toys. 914-232-3010

Salvation Army Thrift Store: 1022-24 Main Street, Peekskill. They accept a variety of items. Hours: Monday-Tuesday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Wednesday-Friday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. 914-737-3022

Twigs Thriftree Thrift Shop: 449 Lexington Avenue, Mount Kisco. Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am to Noon. 914-666-6557

Westchester County Used but Usable Clearinghouse – Treasure Hunt Program: One persons' trash is another's treasure! If you want to give it away, you can list your used but usable items such as furniture, equipment or appliances on the County's website simply by filling out the form. Items are listed for one week. No fees can be charged by either party and transportation of the item is the responsibility of the recipient. Additional Items can be Donated to Specific Organizations:

Cellular Phones: The District Attorney's Office is collecting and reprogramming cellular phones. Drop off phones at Westchester County Government Offices including the County Recreation Department located at 25 Moore Avenue in Mount Kisco.

Eyeglasses: Eyeglasses are collected by the Mount Kisco Lions Club and can be dropped off in the lobby of Northern Westchester Hospital.
